SWA Annual General Meeting
November 2, 2006

On Thursday, November 2, 2006 the SWA Annual meeting was held at the school. There were 35 attendees. SWA reported that our membership is at an all time high (52 members). Our golf tournament and Fishing Derby were both very successful with record attendance. The association had excellent visibility at both the joint meeting with CSC in Sept and by attending and sponsoring a technical session at the Sealant Waterproofing and Restoration Institute Fall Meeting in Montreal. The product showcase is an on-going success and project profile will be on the SWA web site soon.

David Frame, President of COCA was the guest speaker and discussed WSIB rates. It was a very informative discussion with lots of input from the membership.

A presentation of the first ever SWA Fellowship Award was given to the late Bob Rowland for his dedication to the industry. Bob Montpetit presented the award to Bob's grandson Robert Jr.

The SWA Fellowship Award was created to recognize a member of the association who has made a significant contribution to the goals and objectives of the SWA. The objectives of the SWA are:

• to better promote the caulking, sealing and waterproofing industry in Canada
• to maintain the highest standards of construction and business methods
• to promote better understanding and goodwill between the public, owners, specifying authorities, general contractors, architects and members of the SWA.
